Stainless steel, as a material, is highly popular in various professions and industries due to its resistance to wear, rust, and corrosion. Its longevity makes it suitable for a wide range of applications. Andersen Steel has extensive experience in welding stainless steel, with facilities tailored to stainless steel constructions, and we are highly adaptable in this regard. We offer customized solutions that precisely match your needs.

We primarily perform stainless steel welding using TIG, which is the most common method for welding stainless steel, especially in thin materials where TIG welding allows for precise control of heat.

We also use CO2 welding with stainless steel wire, providing a faster welding method. However, the choice between TIG and CO2 welding is entirely up to the customer, and we always offer recommendations based on the project's timeline and requirements.

TIG Welding in Stainless Steel

If you are unsure whether TIG welding or stainless steel wire is best for your stainless steel project, contact us for our assessment and a non-binding quote. TIG stands for Tungsten Inert Gas, where Tungsten refers to wolfram. Wolfram is a metal with a melting point exceeding 3,300 °C, more than double the melting point of the metals typically welded.

IG stands for Inert Gas, indicating an inactive gas that does not form chemical compounds with other substances. In Germany, this method is often referred to as WIG welding, with W representing wolfram. TIG welding is the international and Danish standardized term for this welding method (designated as No. 141 according to DS/EN 24063).

At Andersen's Steel Company, we serve many customers in fish farming, requiring us to perform on-site welding at fish farms. In such cases, we use stainless steel electrodes available in various sizes.
